Each week of the 30-day program includes a supervised excursion, such as a serene park walk, an adventurous volcano trip, a visit to the renowned Starbucks coffee farm or a lively bowling outing. Additionally, as a milestone reward, those achieving designated sobriety partake in a monthly beach trip, offering moments of reflection, rejuvenation, and a camaraderie amidst nature.
These activities play a crucial role in nurturing a supportive atmosphere for sustainable recovery and personal growth.

What Works?
At our recovery center, we understand that drug addiction is a deeply personal and complex issue, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. That’s why we believe in developing personalized treatment plans that specifically address each client’s unique addiction profile and recovery obstacles.
Our team of rehabilitation specialists utilizes a variety of addiction therapy services, including evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, in addition to other programs such as mindfulness and meditation, stress reduction training, relapse prevention, anger management, addiction education, and coping skills training. We work collaboratively with each client to create a comprehensive, holistic approach that promotes lasting recovery and healing.
When considering addiction treatment centers, it’s also essential to consider the model of treatment they use. We believe that the Modified Minnesota Model of Treatment is highly effective in treating alcoholism and addiction. This model views addiction as a chronic no-fault disease and emphasizes unconditional acceptance without judgment, complete abstinence, and treatment of both the mind and body.
At Costa Rica Recovery, we also recognize the importance of family involvement, education within the community, group work, and a 12-Step philosophy in producing successful results. We’re committed to providing our clients with the highest quality care, utilizing personalized treatment plans and effective treatment models to support them on their journey towards lasting recovery.
- Addiction, including alcoholism, can affect anyone and does not discriminate.
- Addiction is an illness that should be treated as such.
- Addiction is not a matter of fault or personal weakness, but a genuine health condition.
- Addiction is a multiphasic illness, meaning that it can manifest in different ways.
- Addiction is a primary illness, often at the root of other health issues.
How Long is Treatment?
We offer 30, 60, and 90 day treatment plans and an option with our Phase 2 program in Nosara to develop your skills in a long term open treatment plan.
The duration of addiction treatment varies based on a range of factors such as the type of substance use disorder, the severity of the addiction, and the individual’s unique circumstances. However, studies have shown that longer treatment durations, such as 60 or 90 days, can have significant advantages and higher success rates in helping individuals develop the habits and skills necessary for long-term recovery.
One advantage of a longer treatment duration is that it allows individuals to spend more time developing new habits and skills that support their recovery. This extended period of time allows them to practice and reinforce healthy behaviors such as mindfulness, stress management, and coping skills that can be crucial in managing triggers and preventing relapse.
Another advantage of longer treatment durations is that they provide individuals with a supportive and structured environment for an extended period. This supportive environment can offer a sense of community and connection with others going through similar struggles, which can be important for maintaining motivation and staying on track with recovery goals.
Research has also shown that longer treatment durations have higher success rates than shorter durations. A study published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment found that individuals who completed 90 days or more of addiction treatment had significantly higher rates of abstinence and lower rates of relapse compared to those who completed shorter durations of treatment.
While the duration of addiction treatment varies based on individual circumstances, longer treatment durations of 60, 90 days, or more can offer significant advantages and higher success rates in developing the habits and skills necessary for long-term recovery.
